Obituary of Gaynell Joan Jackson

Gaynell Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, surrounded by family members and her beloved dog. She was born on July 14, 1932 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She spent her formative years in Marshall county, Minnesota. In 1977 Gaynell embarked on a new chapter in her life, moving to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where she live until her passing. During her time there she found fulfillment through various retail positions, notably at the Nautical Resort Golf Course and Bridgewater Links. She had a gift for remembering names and faces. If you were a regular golfer, she likely knew you by name. Outside her professional life, Gaynell cultivated a range of interests that brought her immense joy. She had a passion for dancing and embraced the rhythm with grace and enthusiasm. Golfing had a special place in her heart, and she relished the opportunity to spend time on the greens, honing her skills and reveling in the company of friends and fellow golfers. She also enjoyed the One-Armed Bandits at the casinos. She was an excellent seamstress and needle crafter. Gaynell was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Gerda Cottrell, her stepmother Ida Cottrell and cherished cousin Ted Weberg. She leaves behind a treasured legacy, survived by her daughter Joan Morbeto and husband Tony Morbeto of Lake Havasu City and son Robert Jackson and his wife Angela Jackson of Riverdale, Utah. Gaynell’s presence will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren, Nataniel Faerber (JJ Liongson), Cassandra Faerber and Riley, Logan and Garrett Jackson as well as her two great-grandchildren Chance and Mieko. Gaynell Joan Jackson will forever be remembered for her unwavering love and the kindness she bestowed upon all who knew her. Though she may be physically absent, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the cherished memories they hold dear. In honor of Gaynell’s memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church or Hospice of Havasu in lieu of flowers.
