Obituary of Dewey Irvin

Samuel “Dewey” Irvin passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born on September 12, 1944 in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Benjamin and Violet Irvin. Dewey moved to California and later graduated from Chaffey High School. He worked for California Department of Corrections in many capacities and retired as fire chief. Upon retirement in the year 2000, he moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ and made it his permanent home. On March 15, 1964, he married his soul mate, Judith, in Ontario, California. Together, they shared 59 years of marriage. Dewey enjoyed boating, horseback riding, playing bingo, spending time with his family, and snuggling his dear Boston Terrier, Buddy. Dewey is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Violet Irvin, siblings Fern Slone, Frank Irvin, and Elaine Beals, and grand-daughter Jessica Irvin. Dewey is survived by his loving wife Judith, son Jeffrey(Maria) Irvin, daughter Brenda(Jake) Crabb, brother Timothy Irvin, sisters Helen Croll and Doris Wheeler, 3 grand-children, and 2 great-grandchildren.
