Bobbie Gene Myers, 90, passed away on May 17, 2023 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born on February 12, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dorothy and Leonard Myers.
Bob was raised in Muncie, Indiana where he received his GED diploma and enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. Bob was actively enlisted from 1950 through 1970, honorably serving for 20 years. During his service, Bobfought in the Korean-Vietnam war.
Bob was awarded 6 medals to commemorate his services in the United States Navy. Those medals include the Korean Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Medal, China Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
On December 7, 1952, Bob married the love of his life, Lorraine Marie Schwenk in Yuma, Arizona. They were married for 70 years. They have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, boating, traveling in his RV, and spending time in Laughlin, Nevada. He was a member of the Elks for 35 years, Fleet Reserve Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and The American Legion.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lorraine Marie Myers, his son, Steven Myers, and his daughter, Kathleen Myers Cummins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard W. Myers, mother, Dorothy Catt, stepmother, Ruth Dunn Myers, brother, Jack Myers, and daughter Dorothy Berendt.
