Obituary of Ronald Rosales Faranow

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald R. Faranow Born on March 11, 1956, to Richard B. Faranow and Ann Rosales in Los Angeles, California. Ronnie was an identical twin arriving 5 minutes after his brother Richard B. Faranow II. He first lived in Compton, California. In 1962 the family moved to Montebello where he attended school, graduating from Schurr High School Class of 1975. Ronnie was given his first guitar at age 7, his twin playing drums. He took lessons and joined local bands playing backyard parties, battle of the bands and had gigs at Gazarri’s on Sunset playing on the bill with Van Halen with a band called Kuper Stytch. His music icons included Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and he faithfully reproduced their music. After high school Ronnie worked in the garment industry for some 25 years at Sasson Jeans, Sauci, Paul Stanley and David Dart. In 1994 the twins moved to Arcadia. Ronnie made a career change in 2003 attending college to become a kidney dialysis technician. In 2004 he decided to move to Lake Havasu, purchasing a home and working 10 years in dialysis. He last worked for the Sterilite Corporation as a machine operator. Like his brother and his father, he was creative and artistic. Ronnie produced leatherworks such as purses, belts, guitar straps and handles for amplifiers. He built several pieces of furniture. He was an expert in rebuilding and repairing guitars for local musicians. He also loved cooking and trying new recipes, tacos and salsa being an absolute favorite! Upon the sudden death of his twin in 2019, Ronnie decided to retire. The celebration of life held for Rick at Jake’s Roadhouse in Monrovia featured Ron on lead guitar, Louis Ruiz on bass, and great nephew Jon Roach on drums. Ron surprised us all by singing Stray Cat Strut by Brian Setzer and Dead Flowers by the Rolling Stones among a few other songs played. He enjoyed the celebration, as it seemed as much for him, as it was to honor his twin. Ronnie entered Rock and Roll Heaven on May 25, 2023, at 12:41 a.m. following a catastrophic stroke that air flighted him to Banner University Hospital in Phoenix. He will be missed beyond words. He is predeceased by both parents and his identical twin. Ronnie is survived by three sisters, Linda Ellsworth, Shirley Gonzales, and Marie Delgadillo. He is also survived by six nieces, Gina Hodge Roach, Yvette Hodge, Michelle Dietl, Cynthia Sender, Stephanie Delgadillo Garcia, and Shawn Delgadillo. Numerous grand nieces and nephews, more than 27 first cousins, one dear Uncle Raymond Rosales, and lifelong friends Louis Ruiz, Anthony Espinosa, and Donna Cuomo Russo. Inquiries may be directed to Marie Delgadillo, mtdelgadillo@msn.com. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz Fraze Funeral Home.
