Obituary of Virginia Erwin
Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia Ruth Erwin went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 24, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 79. Ginny as she was known by family and friends was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Thomas & Helen (Carpenter) Massongill on January 19, 1933.
Ginny married the love of her life, Jack Erwin, in Paramount, CA on June 24, 1949. With a 4 year courtship before marriage they shared over 67 wonderful years together.
Prior to moving to Lake Havasu City 17 years ago, Jack and Ginny lived in Orange, CA. She was a homemaker most of her life; lovingly taking care of her family. Family was the most important thing to her other than serving for the Lord. She was a kind hearted, loyal, precious loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & friend. She loved all of her church family from Calvary Baptist Church for the past 14 years. Jack and Ginny enjoyed setting up communion many times for their church and she loved singing in the choir. She loved to bake and cook for her family, friends and church. We loved it most when she wanted to try a new recipe on the family and it always was no disappointment for anyone. She knew, like her Mom how to make us all full.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Jack; her sons, Rob Erwin of Aliso Viejo, CA, Randy Erwin and wife Karen of Lake Havasu City, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Jaime Weber and Husband John of Newport Beach, CA, Jacki Briscoe and husband Dion of San Diego, CA and Scott Erwin and fiancé, Brittany Meyers of Broomfield, CO; 6 great-grandchildren, Caylee, Zachary, Mackenzie, Nikolas, Hailey & Daisha all from CA; brother-in-law Bill Jordan of CA, Uncle Harold Carpenter, Aunt Avis Carpenter and many cousins all from Texas. She also leaves behind many, many friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother and Aunt Francis.
A special thank you goes out to Hospice of Havasu and the Polidori House.
A celebration of Ginny's life is planned for September 15, 2012 at 11:00am located at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 S McCulloch Blvd, Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is so good! For his loving-kindness is forever. Ps118:29
