Obituary of Marilyn Marie Hart
Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marilyn Marie Hart (Miller) of Parker, AZ & Running Springs, CA passed away March
30, 2023 in Lake Havasu City.
Marilyn was born in Chicago Illinois to Harry and Inez Miller. She went
to Jones Business School. She married her childhood sweetheart Al Hart on January 5,
1951. Their honeymoon took them to Southern California, where they decided to move.
Marilyn worked as a bookkeeper in Southern California at the Greenbrier Company, The
Kelly Corporation, The Standard Corporation, and Disneyland Hotel. In Lake Havasu
City, AZ she worked for Starlight Pontoon Boats.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Robert Hart of Fontana, California, and Deborah
Hale of Parker, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her: husband Alfred Hart; parents
Inez and Harry Miller; siblings Harry Miller, Jr., Jim Miller, Janie Dickman, and Joyce
Tibus.
Marilyn loved life. She wasn’t one to turn down a fun time, which usually meant she
injured herself. She was teased a lot for being ‘bionic’ because she had many metal rods
and screws in her to fix broken bones. She enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, swimming,
ATV riding, and ice skating. All these activities usually ended up with some sort of
injury, but it never stopped her from doing them. At age 78 she did Indoor Sky Diving.
For quieter hobbies, Marilyn enjoyed knitting, reading, cake decorating, painting, stain
glass, and gardening.
Marilyn had a quick sense of humor. Even at age 90, when assisted living employees
urged her to call them for help, she replied “Well I never know if I’m going to need help
UNTIL I’m ON the floor”.
Marilyn enjoyed retirement living at her beloved home in Running Springs, California
where she’d spend many hours gardening in her yard. When snow hit, she’d be outside
shoveling her paths along with neighbors half her age.
Marilyn’s health may have failed, but her spirit, humor and love lives on.
