Obituary of Eva Hardy

Genoveva Salinas Hardy, known to her family and friends as “Eva”, passed away on February 24, 2023, at the age of 82 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Eva was born in El Paso, TX. On January 03, 1941 to Tomas Calvillo Mendoza and Guadalupe Salinas Mendoza (Mendez).
She attended Ysleta High School in El Paso, Texas. She then met her handsome Army soldier and future husband, Bob. After a long courtship, she moved to Los Angeles, California in 1966 to be with him. On August 20, 1966 she married the love of her life at The Lucky Little Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the same year she had her son, Robert Hardy Jr. In 1971, the family made the move to Lake Havasu City, Arizona with the McCulloch Corp.
While in her 20’s, Eva had worked for the Farrah Jeans Co. in El Paso and when she moved to Lake Havasu City, she worked for the McCulloch Corp. for 3 years. But she was fulfilled by being a stay-at-home mother and wife. Eva enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, crafting and dabbling in painting and learning to play guitar. She also enjoyed being outside tending to her rose garden, which she loved so much (Her favorite rose variety being the Rosa “Don Juan”). Eva was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Genoveva is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Guadalupe Mendoza, her sisters Eliza, Natalia and Aurora. She is survived by her husband Robert Hardy Sr., her son Robert Hardy Jr., her daughter-in-law Rosemary Hardy, and her grandchildren, Bobby and Isabel. Her sisters Isabel Munoz, Teresa Rocha and her brother Lorenzo Mendoza from El Paso, TX. Eva was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
There will be a public viewing and visitation on March 6, 2023 4pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Rosary and Mass Service will take place at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the following day on March 7, 2023, at 11am.
