I have so many memories of uncle Cal, from camping, bowling, 4 wheeling, shooting firearms and living with him and aunt Karen.
Uncle Cal wasn’t just someone who would help you in a heartbeat but also who helped me learn life skills and more.
I will miss you. Love always . See you on the other side.

Uncle Cal was one of a kind. I have so many memories of doing things with him. One of the things about Uncle Cal that I admired was how kind hearted he was. Under that hard bark was a very kind heart.
One of my fondest memories of Uncle Cal was the time there was a bunch of us ( about 20 of us) at grandma & grandpa Tillery’s house in Temple City. I was about 10-11 years old at the time. Uncle Cal decided we needed to make a banana pudding…. enough for everybody.
It became an “event”. Uncle Cal and my dad sent me to the market about 10 different times to buy more bananas and Vanilla Wafers. I ended up buying all the bananas the market had! When they finally got the banana pudding made, it was huge! Aunt Toby said it weighed over 40 lbs. I just know it was huge, and everybody darn sure got their fill of banana pudding. That was Uncle Cal in a nutshell, wanting to do something for everybody and making darn sure we all had a good time doing it!!!
Rest easy Uncle Cal. I’ll see you up yonder when my time comes.
Love ya buddy!!!

I have great memories of my Uncle Cal. When he smiled and laughed he had a twinkle in his eye. I think as everyone is remembering Uncle Cal the common word is hero or rescuer. It seems he was that to all of us a time or two.
When I was around 16 I spilled boiling water on my leg, I was in shock and pain. I was terrified to go to the hospital. My mom was trying to get me in the car to no avail. Uncle Cal pulled up and whisk me away!!
Another time I had a blow out on the 210 freeway in San Fernando Valley who did I call Uncle Cal!!
There was one time when I had to rescue him!! Aunt Karen and I laugh about that time he got lost and we found him in the bushes!! We had fun!!
Uncle Cal was a good man who was loved by many. I will miss him dearly. Love you Uncle Cal until we meet again!!

My uncle Cal was my best friend.
We spent a lot of time together boating, in the desert 4 wheeling in his Jeep or just hanging out.
He was a wise, loving and generous man who never missed the opportunity to help someone in need.
I’m honored to have him as my uncle. I will miss him very much.
I love you uncle Cal!

My uncle Cal, he was a gracious, kind hearted, caring man. He was the one who came to the rescue whenever a need arose.
He was a prankster. He loved to scare us kids by knocking on the sliding glass door, a flashlight under his chin, full of anticipation, waiting for us kids to open the curtain and watch us all scream and run. He’d laugh historically.
He carried a cow bell around with him. He loved to use it to wake me up by ringing it in my ear. He thought that was the greatest and again, he’d laugh.
He loved banana pudding. He and I had a banana pudding contest, not sure who won though.
I have so many memories, I could go on.
My uncle Cal was my Hero for many reasons. I will miss him dearly!
I love you uncle Cal! See you in Heaven!

When I think of Calvin as a child ,only two years younger than me; I hear me saying "Caldonia what makes your head so hard! (taken from a popular song of the day.) Then to that little boy with his beautiful bronze skin from summer sun. Sun up to sun down in his Speedo type bathing suit and a towel tied around his neck; he became superman running up and down that dirt road---no need for toys. and now a teenager tinkering with a broken radio, record-player or anything else that might be broken. Cal had grown into a very handsome loving young man and always there to lend a helping hand in whatever the need be. He was a loving person, a wonderful brother and friend. I will miss him mightily until we meet again and walk those Golden Streets together. Martha Tillery Boutwell

My brother Calvin was the middle brother of us seven siblings. Being my older brother, there are many wonderful memories which I will cherish. One memory that shows what a fantastic brother and amazing person he was happened nearly twenty years ago. Several of us siblings had traveled to Sacramento to my niece’s wedding. As things tend to happen when traveling a distance, we were running behind. My health had begun to deteriorate and I had so much trouble walking and keeping up with everyone as we hustled to the wedding. I told them to go ahead and get in there so they wouldn’t miss anything. My brother said, “Hell no. We go in together,” as he swooped me up, his little fifty-six year old sister, into his arms and carried me right to the dock with everyone else. This moment really memorializes what a good-hearted, caring person he was, especially to his family and close friends. I miss him so much already, but my love for him is still right here.

Calvin was not just my brother but a special friend. He dropped everything many times to come to my rescue. He taught me many things about how to be self sufficient. He was always willing to help even a stranger. I will miss him every day. ❤️

Q: How would you describe Cal to someone who had never met them?
A: My brother Cal was one of the most generous persons I ever knew. Every time we visited him, he always insisted on giving me something when we left. In 1997 we moved back to Wyoming. We had so much stuff we couldn't get it all in uhaul truck. Immediately Cal volunteered to bring the rest to Wyoming. He was always looking for a way to share and give.
One of the greatest ways you could honor him and his legacy is to consider his Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
