Obituary of Barbara Ann Shufeldt

Barbara Ann Shufeldt, 97, passed away peacefully Monday morning in Lake Havasu City, AZ, 10/17/2022. She was born to Charles "C.R." and Gertrude Wasson in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada on August 7th, 1925 Barb married Robert Shufeldt on October 9th, 1946 after meeting him while in nurses training at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob (AKA the Old Shu) on June 8th, 1988. Bob and Barb shared a wonderful life together that started in Canada, moved through Alabama, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Minnesota and finally Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Barbara was a spirited lady who was always involved with family, friends and community. Her caring nature was felt by everyone that had a place in her heart. She needed a big heart and she definitely had one. Barb loved being with friends whether playing cards, dominoes, organizing parties, dining in the cafeteria, or having cocktails on the patio. Grama Shu was a connoisseur of vodka who stayed loyal to her favorite brand - Smirnoff to the end. Barbara is survived by her two sons, Charles Shufeldt of Atlanta and Mark Shufeldt of Phoenix. Her son in law, John Parrott (Ellen). Grandchildren include Amy Parrott Kahn (Jason), Charles F. Shufeldt (Amanda), Ryan Parrott (Krista), Burch Shufeldt (Chloe), Lt. Nicholas Stoffel (Whitney), Christina Stoffel, and Luke Shufeldt. She is blessed with thirteen great grandkids. This large family was showered with love and attention by Barb's formidable organizational skills. She was our beloved, Queen. Barbara was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Robyn Martha Parrott and Chuck's wife, Margaret Duval Shufeldt. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Prestige Assisted Living who treated Barbara like their own mother. She felt their love. A celebration of Barb's life will be planned at a date to be determined with all family, friends and caretakers to be invited. In lieu of flowers, Barb requested donations towards any diabetes related charity or research organization
