Obituary of Freddie Lowman

Freddie Lee Lowman Fred Lowman stepped into the presence of our Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, after a short stay at the VA Hospital in Phoenix. He was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Medford, Ore., to John and Magdalena Lowman. Fred was drafted into the military before his 12th grade of school and was shipped to Germany. After being injured he was medically discharged, and moved around the states before settling in Kingman, where he went to work for Navajo Freight Lines with which he worked for 22 years. While working for Navajo he met a young widow by the name of Dolores and married her in 1970 and together they raised nine children. After ABF Truck Lines bought out Navajo, Fred was transferred to Albuquerque, N.M., so he picked up the family and moved there and worked for another 21 years until his retirement. In 1984 he returned home to Kingman, where he lived up until a few short months ago when he moved to Buckeye, Ariz., to live with his daughter Paula. Fred leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Dolores B. Lowman; and his children, Jim (Marva) of Kingman, Bruce (Donna) of Kingman, Bryan (Shawna) of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Bob (Cledia) of Kingman, Auderee (Mike) of Albuquerque, John (Kathy) of Albuquerque, Cindy (Bobby) of Texas, and Paula (Mike) of Buckeye. He has one sister, Jo Porferes of Oregon; and one brother, Bill Beasley of Kingman. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by both parents, his oldest daughter, Dorothy Lee Lowman, and his wife, Dorothy. Fred was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be remembered for all the kindness and generosity he showed to others. He will be remembered for saying, "Oh, still kicking, but not as high" when asked how he was doing. Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the LDS Church at 3180 Rutherford Drive, Kingman. There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 11. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road. After the burial please join us for a luncheon back at the LDS Church to continue celebrating Fred's life.
