Ima Dell Berry passed away in her sleep on July 12, 2022. She was a woman of faith and was blessed by
friends that called to pray with her. She loved her church. Redemption Hill, with Pastor Ray and Lisa.
Ima will be forever missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brother, James Dansby and his wife April in Tool, Texas and her son Michael Berry
a chiropractor in Tustin California and his wife Sabrina and her daughter Rita Van Horn and husband
Sean in Lake Havasu City.
She has four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Ima is also survived by her faithful and loyal companion, Bella, her beloved dog. She had great comfort
in her last days knowing Bella was going to have a loving home with Rita and Sean.
Ima was very proud of her family and loved them very much. She enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners with
everyone.
Ima was born Fort Washita, Oklahoma on April 27
th
, 1934 She later moved to California and married
Frank Berry in 1952.
They had a wonderful life. They raised their children in Orange County, California. In 1992, Ima and
Frank retired and built their home in Lake Havasu City. Ima and Frank had a beautiful life together until
his passing on October 30
th
2012. Ima was proud of the fact that she continued to live on her own in
their home.
Ima was the best friend anyone could ever have. She was the best at everything. The best cook, the best
aunt, the best mother, cousin and the best grandmother. She could also be the worst, Heaven forbid
you got on her wrong side. Fortunately, that seldom happened. Her loyalty and love ran deep. She was
an amazing cook and loved cooking for others. She was famous for her candy and baked goods for the
mailman, waste disposal driver and anyone else she wanted to bless. She loved crossword puzzles, the
more difficult the better. Her goal was to finish a globe crossword before she passed. She finished one
two months ago.
