Douglas -- I'm so sorry for your loss. I met June in 1975 when she hired me to help her work on the phone directory the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce had printed; it covered San Clemente, Capistrano Beach, Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano. We worked together on two directories before the leadership of the Chamber changed and I was laid off. I went to work for the Capistrano Beach County Water District after that and when I decided to move back to Seattle, June was my first (and only) recommendation to replace me as she was such a perfect fit.
I adored working with June. She was such a wonderful person and the epitome of what a boss should be -- kind, caring and willing to work together to find solutions to problems. She treated me like a daughter more than an employee. After I moved back to Seattle, I have enjoyed a 42-year (!) correspondence with her (birthdays and Christmases -- I wasn't a big letter writer) and will miss hearing her news and views.
June will be truly missed by all who knew her.
