Obituary of Josephine Russell

Josephine Russell, age 83, of Peach Springs, Ariz., passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, in Kingman. She was born to Bert and Bernice Whatsoniame, March 1, 1929 in Valentine, Ariz. She has enjoyed 60 years of marriage to Peter Russell. She was a member the LDS Church and belonged to the Relief Society. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in Convalescent Care. She had many hobbies including being an Art Instructor, and working as a Native American Education Specialist, helping with cultural preservation. She was a long-time member of the Women's Bowling Association, and enjoyed traveling with her family. She is survived by her husband, Peter Russell; two sons, Gregory Russell and Cecil Gene from Peach Springs; two daughters, Wanda Phillips of Manteca, Calif., and Jodeane Russell of Stockton, Calif. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation is to be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, in the Multi-Purpose Building in Peach Springs. The funeral service will start at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, with burial to follow at the Peach Springs Cemetery.
