Mimi Irene Doke Ward, 72, of Lake Havasu City, passed away on November 23, 2021. Mimi was born in Covina, CA on November 15, 1949 to Charles & Suvia Anderson, who both preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Anderson. Mimi is survived by her husband, Brit Ward; her daughters Lisa Jennings & husband Derral, Amber Grey, and Melissa Spease & husband Kent; step-children Brian Ward & wife Dawn, and Brad Ward & wife Kayla; grandchildren Marti-Ann Huggett & husband Juan, Gavin Grey, Brittany Grey, Raeanna Simpson, Halin Simpson, Logan Ward, Adalynn Ward, and Violet Ward; great-grandchildren Mia Huggett, AJ Graciano, and Maximillian Graciano; brother-in-law Brad Ward; as well as many blended family members including an additional 6 step-children, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Once you were a part of Mimi’s family you were always a part of Mimi’s family. Her love knew no bounds. Mimi was an amazing entrepreneur and business owner, who was passionate about her work, with many achievements in the wedding & events planning industry for 50 years. Mimi created The Wedding Specialist in Ukiah, CA in the 1970’s. She relocated to Lake Havasu City, AZ in the early 1990’s. She was the first Master Bridal Consultant in the nation and she traveled the United States holding seminars, helping others achieve their dreams of starting their own business in the wedding industry. Mimi and her husband opened their most recent business, Tux & Tulips! Florist, in October 2020. Along with her many other accomplishments, Mimi held the title of Certified Special Events Professional and she was also a very accomplished photographer. She truly was THE Wedding Specialist. Beyond being a dedicated and successful business owner, Mimi was first and foremost a loving, nurturing, kind hearted & family-oriented person. Family meant everything to her. She loved traveling, lunch dates with grandkids, fishing, motorcycle rides, planning events, and spending time with friends. She was dearly loved by all.
