Obituary of Billie A Schuler
Please share a memory of Billie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Billie Ann Schuler, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the age of 82.
Known to many as “Billie”, she was born in Long Beach, CA, October 4, 1939, to parents William Frank and Anna Catherine Ottele. Billie attended St. Anthony High School and grew up in the Long Beach area where she eventually met the love of her life, David D. Schuler. Dave and Billie were married for 56 years before “Papa Schu’s” passing in 2013. Billie was a retired Homemaker and enjoyed traveling, playing golf, cards, shopping, and liked the company of family and friends. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Queens Bay Queens and the Happy Niners women’s golf leagues. Billie especially enjoyed the company of her family and many friends. She accumulated nicknames “Grandma Beer Bong” and “Grandma Fireball” as she was always looking to enjoy her time with her kids, grandchildren, and friends.
Billie was a loving Mom, Grandma, and Friend. She was patriotic, a mentor to many, resilient, and always there to support her family and friends. She will be missed tremendously and was strong and determined to enjoy God’s gift of life. She was the rock that kept everything in place, highly motivated, intelligent, funny, and amazed us all with her “can do” attitude. Our Mom & Grandma will certainly be missed and with each tear that is shed…we will remember her in our hearts and miss her wonderful smile! We loved you and will miss the joy you brought to all of us. You left too soon, but now you’re in God’s hands and reunited with all your loved ones in heaven.
Billie is survived by her family: Sons, Dave Jr. (Terrilee) & Anthony (Beth); daughters, Jeri (Dale) & Tracey; Brother, Lyle Ottele (Helen). Billie was also blessed with 12 wonderful grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. During this difficult time, please use Billie’s favorite verse “This too shall pass” for her remembrance and comforting thoughts.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church (McCulloch Campus) in Lake Havasu City Friday, November 19, at 3 PM with a celebration honoring her life immediately following at 4:30 PM.
