Obituary of Linda Kay Shelton

Linda Kay Shelton, 75, of Lake Havasu City returned home to be with our Lord on August 31, 2021 at Havasu Regional Medical Center. She was born on August 28, 1946 in Oakland, CA the youngest child of Monroe and Jewell Pope Wilkes. Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She treasured spending time with her family above all and delighted in having her children and grandchildren over for home cooked meals. Linda could often be found at home in her kitchen gathering recipes and cooking. She also loved her Boston Terriers, Lacy and Ruby. Linda crocheted since she was a young girl. She became quite computer savvy over the years. Linda spent down time with friends sharing recipes on social media and playing games on her computer. Linda grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. She played the alto saxophone and was first chair in the band at Norview High School. In 1974 she met and married her husband Larry, a petty officer in the Navy. Larry was the light of Linda’s life. She was happiest right at his side and she often said how much she loved him. She was an impeccable homemaker who delighted in putting her heart into her home. Linda loved Jesus. She was baptized together with her husband. She loved attending church and praising and worshiping God. We know she is rejoicing in heaven now. Linda is survived by her husband Larry of 47 years, her three children, and their spouses: Don and Angie Klostermeier of Lake Havasu City, Shane and Ericka Shelton of Lake Havasu, and Jim and Rachel Shelton of Columbia, TN. Those also left to cherish her memory are her six grandchildren: Michael Lujan, Krystal Boatwright, Tiffany and Tanner Guerrette, and Sarah and James Shelton. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Monroe and Jewell Wilkes, her sister Barbara Wilkes, and her father-in-law James Shelton. A Memorial Service honoring Linda’s life is planned for September 18th, 11am – 12pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Lake Havasu City.
