Auntie Mellie, I lit a green candle for you, because I remember your beautiful jade jewelry and trips to Gemco. I wish I had been able to have spent more time with you, Uncle Donald and my cousins…the time I did get to spend with the family was wonderful. Trips to Tijuana, many trips to Disney & Knotts Berry Farm with Donnie, playing at the school with Donnie behind the house in Anaheim, learning to make paper flowers for the wedding we were attending while there, eating sunflowers for the first time, going to the drive-in to see a Clint Eastwood movie with the other cousins from Van Nuys…..visiting family in the valley, Topanga shopping center (I think there was a skating rink inside)…I have lovely memories and will never forget Auntie Mellie’s smile and that she was always happy. She would let me play in her room with her jewelry….oh how I still love jewelry. I hope you are resting peacefully and reunited with Uncle Donald & Donnie and you all see my mom & dad and smile down on us. You will be missed by all who knew you.
