Obituary of Gregory William Schmidt

Gregory William Schmidt, 62, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of August 17th in Lake Havasu City, Arizona after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Laura, and their three sons, AJ, Shaun, and Kevin. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley, three siblings and their spouses, Audrey and Ed Will, Ron and Kim Schmidt, Steve and Sherry Schmidt, along with many loving members in his extended family. He now joins his father, Ed, in the afterlife. The countless close friends that came to know and love him during his time and careers in Alaska, Nebraska, Colorado, and Arizona knew what it meant to have a most trusted, generous, and vibrant companion in their lives. His given name was quite fitting, as "gregarious" is the best way to describe his daily attitude and way of life; he had the ability to talk to and enjoy his time with anyone he happened to encounter. He takes with him a love of boating, an infectious laugh, and a knowledge that he touched so many lives, whether it was a passing acquaintance or a lifelong bond.
