Joy Lou Brock was born March 23, 1931 in Enid Oklahoma, to Mildred Hazel Watson, and Walter Nelson Barnes. Joy was proud to be an “OKIE”. She was moved to Fresno- Madera California at the age of 5. Joy attended Central High school and excelled in all sports. She was a beautiful and proud red head!
She married S.G. Wright at the age of 16. Together they owned the “Wright Spot” hamburgers and ice cream restaurant in Fresno, CA. They raised two daughters Paulette D Wright and Bobette Wright, one son Larry Lee Wright 1948 deceased. Joy worked as a waitress later in life and her last position was a business agent for Portland, Oregon waitress union. Joy
Loved square dancing and traveled the world, dancing and enjoying other countries. Joy was always a devoted Christian and a member of Church of Christ. Her death was unexpected and a tragic shock. Joy is survived by daughters Bobette and Paulette, grandchildren Crista Pacetti, Travis Starner, Austin Meissner, great grandchildren Ethan Pacetti, Kayla Starner, Rodney Starner, Payton Meissner, Rylee Meissner.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Sister Sylvia Hardaway, Brother Danny Green, granddaughter Brandi Howard.
All remembrances should be made to assisting Domestic Violence Victims Compensation Fund. She will be buried at Belmont Memorial Gardens with her family in Fresno, CA.
