"Blessed are those that mourn, for they will be comforted." Luke 5:4 Our beloved Linda, who was a Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandma, Great Grandma, Aunt, Cousin and Godmother joined the heavenly father on June 26, 2021. As she prepared for the final exit from this life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ she was surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren at her side with loving memories and prayers. She was born on Christmas day to Harry "Bud" Miller II and Donalda (Layton) Miller in Wheeling, West Virginia. Linda was the eldest of 3 children, survived by her Brother, Harry "Buddy" Miller III (Geri) and Sister Cheryl Gordon (Tom Bolin). Her early years were in Wheeling, West Virginia. Her family relocated to Anaheim, California when she was 10 years old because the climate was better for her health after she recovered from Polio. She graduated from high school in 1966. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Henry "Ski" Szczypiorski Sr. and married July 2, 1967. She passed away 6 days before their 54th Anniversary. Ski and Linda moved to Crestline, California in 1977, where they raised their four children, and eventually retired in Kingman, Arizona. The death of Linda was preceded by the death of her Father (June 5, 1968) and Mother (January 23, 2019). She is survived by her Loving Husband of 54 years, Henry "Ski" Szczypiorski of Kingman, Arizona, Her four children, Wendy Szczypiorski of Corona, CA, Misty (Paul) Martin of Kingman, AZ, Shelley (John) Osborne of Lakewood, CA, and Henry "Jay" (Deena) Szczypiorski II of Menifee, CA. Linda also has 11 Grandchildren, Emily, Kelsey, Taylor, Maddison, Katlyn, Conner, Steven, Henry III "Tre", Abigail, Dakota and Rachel. She was blessed this year with her first Great Grandson, Mauricio. Our mother was a very thoughtful, compassionate person. She loved her family, friends and pets with her whole heart. She was kind, generous with her time and extremely thoughtful in everything that she did. She had the ability to make anyone feel comfortable, so they could just be themselves. She taught her children to be loving, always. She had a heart of service and hospitality that has become her signature. Growing up her home was always the house friends always came over and were treated like her own child, and her home was always the home for holiday gatherings with big family meals. She was a very humble woman and had such a unique little laugh that lit up a room and always brought happiness to others surrounding her. She would always treat her children's spouses and their children like her own. You would rarely see her upset, she always had a smile on her face. Some of my mom's favorite things were baking, red roses, wind chimes, butterflies, sewing, crafts and attending Fall Festivals. Going to Oak Glen in the fall with her cousin, Joyce, was her favorite festival to attend. Every Anniversary, she would take a vacation with the love of her life to celebrate the additional year of marriage. She was so proud of the many years of marriage and . Every birthday she loved getting together with her entire family celebrating HER and having cheesecake with cherries on top! We would always celebrate her the first half of the day, and then our Family Christmas exchange the second half of the day. She collected Red Dishes, porcelain bells, salt and pepper shakers from every city visited. Her all time favorite thing to do was to bake for everyone. At Christmastime all of the girls would help bake over 30 different kinds of specialty cookies to hand out as gifts to family and friends. Family and Friends looked forward to these cookie platters every year. This tradition will continue for all the years to come. The favorite family recipe she made was her amazing pie crust. The family recipe that dates back to early 1900s is: 2 cups flour 3/4 cup shortening softened (she liked using Crisco) 1/2 tsp salt 5-7 TBS warm water Mix shortening into flour and salt until crumbly. Add water 1 TBS at a time. Roll out on a lightly floured wax / parchment paper. Flip crust into a pie pan. Recipe is for one crust; you might need to double it depending how big the pie is. Linda blessed and impacted many in her lifetime. For many years she worked at Farmers Insurance in Crestline, CA. She eventually got a job as a decorator with Luckys (Albertsons) Grocery Store in Redlands and Highland, CA. She absolutely loved this job. She loved to decorate cakes and truly was amazing at it. She retired from Albertsons after 15 years of service in 2010, when she moved to Seligman, Arizona. Linda has had health issues all her life, beginning at the age of 5 years old. her health issues started when she got the polio vaccine. The left side of her body was partially paralyzed. This is when the family needed to move to a warmer climate for her recovery. In 1977, she had a portion of her left lung removed because of the damaged lung from repeated lung infections. At this time, she began an IVIG treatment for her low immune system. Over the years, Linda had repeated pneumonia, bronchitis, and lung infections. She began using oxygen as needed about 10 years ago, and this year it became necessary for her to wear it continuously. Linda caught pseudomonas and sadly could not recover from it. Thankfully we were all able to say our Good-Byes to her before she went to be with the Lord. Her Daddy greeted his little princess with open arms. Until we meet in heaven again ~ "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Gravesite Services will be held: Monday, August 23, 2021 at 12:00 pm Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Boulevard Riverside, CA 92518 *Reception immediately following at her son Jay and Deena's home in Menifee, CA.
