William Douglas “Doug”Racine passed away July 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He had been battling cancer since 2006.
He was born on November 21, 1958 in Whittier, CA to Blodwin and Bill Racine. He grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints. He had an amazing childhood in Hacienda Heights, where he enjoyed fun times with friends, and had family vacations. He graduated from Los Alamitos High Schoolin 1976.
Doug met the love of his life Kathy in 1980 and then married her on January 6, 1990. They shared 31 years together. He enjoyed vacationing in Lake Havasu City as a child, so they moved to Lake Havasu City to be with his dad in 2001. Their family grew over the years, with his daughter Alexandria (Robert) Racine, granddaughter’s Amelia and Charlotte Racine, son Patrick (Debra) Evers, granddaughter’s Rebecca (Harrison) Bowditch, great granddaughter Olivia Bowditch, granddaughter Kayli Evers, and grandson Korey Evers. During these years he worked a total of 40 years as a production engineer.
Doug was a family man who enjoyed vacations filled with camping, fishing, and laughter. His favorite places to visit were Lake Powell, and the Sierras. Doug strived to learn new things and build on his skills as an engineer. In 2014 he received his AA in Computer Information. Doug enjoyed cooking and loved to cook for family and friends, and experiment with different food groups. He enjoyed building models, and looking for new things to do, such as renovations/add-ons to the house.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents Blodwin and Bill, sister Denyse Racine-Daniel, and daughter Tami Evers.
Doug, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, will be having services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 504 W Acoma Blvd. Lake Havasu City, 86403 at 11:00 a.m.
