Shirley Jean Valdespino Seamans 08/03/1952 – 05/19/2021
“Blessed are those that mourn, for they will be comforted” Luke 5:4 Our beloved Mama Shirl, Sister, Nini, Shoo joined her heavenly father and rejoiced with the love of her life Thomas of 33 years. She was born on August 3, 1952 and raised by loving parents Paul and Annie.
Shirley passed away on May 19, 2021, her treasured family by her side, at the age of 68, in Lake Havasu City from complications related to heart surgery.
Nothing made Shirley happier than time with her family. She loved having her family visit her home in Havasu, creating memories by the pool, on the lake, enjoying wonderful meals together and endless laughs and stories to tell. Shirley shared so many wonderful experiences at the Mayo family ranch in Tehachapi, California, where day long wild adventures were welcomed with the closeness that only family can deliver. She traveled with her lifelong best friend and cousin Shelly. The “Thelma & Louise” pair enjoyed great memories and had many more escapades planned. She spent many years aboard the “Lucky Six” with Thomas, as his co-captain, embarking on nautical weekend trips to Catalina Island with wonderful experiences of fishing and adventures on the ocean. Shirley had a illustrious career as General Manager at a plastics company with the love of her life Tom for many years in California, before moving to Lake Havasu, AZ. They both loved their many fur babies over the years (Jake, Sunday, Tillie, Angie and O’Henry), which led to her passion to serve her community at the Animal Hospital of Havasu, where she created lasting friendships. Shirley gave so much love to her family and always had a beautiful perspective on what life had to offer. She often gave her advise to those who asked and it always seemed to bring calm and peace to any situation. Her thoughtful, kind demeanor and actions will always be remembered.
Shirley is survived by her Children Kevin Seamans (Monaca), Christian Seamans (Courtney) and Jonathan Seamans (Sarah); Sister Terri Patrick (Ron); Grandchildren Spencer, Lauren, Laurissa, Alison and Kason; Niece Amanda; Nephew Joey; Great-Nieces Chloe and Aubree; and Brother In Laws Don Reed (Jenney), Rick Reed (Eileen) and Niece Bethany.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas Seamans six years ago and her parents Paul Mayo and Annie Mayo (Garcia), and sister in law Mary Lynn Richardson.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a later date.
