Peter Wayne Hodges passed away suddenly March 18th at the age of 75 in Kingman Az. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Edith Ann Rice and Cavin Coolidge Hodges, brothers Fred Hodges and Tom Carmody and Grandmother Nora Pollock. Wayne aka “Harley” is survived by his love Donna Duncan of Kingman AZ his brother John Carmody of Golden Valley, AZ his brother Clarence Gabriel of Sun City West, AZ and daughter Kelly Christine Conrad of Surprise, AZ. Wayne was born in Kansas City, MO. On January 18th, 1946 he was raised mostly by his Aunt Sue but really enjoyed spending time with his grandma Nora in Winslow Az. Growing up Wayne was very athletic earning letters in basketball, track and football at Cape Verde HS. After graduation Wayne served in the army as a helicopter crew chief in the Vietnam War. As a Veteran Wayne was very patriotic loving the country he once knew. Harley spent the last 17 years in Kingman surrounded by friends and family who loved him. An avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider he enjoyed adventures on the open road across the US and down Route 66. The countless number of motorcycles and rides he had experienced allowed him to see the world from behind handlebars which to him was the only way to go. His hero was John Wayne he loved watching old movies with The Duke in them. He also had a great talent for telling stories on any topic. History was his favorite but lately it had been mostly political. A true patriot and supporter of freedom and the American flag. Wayne had just finished organizing his shop. When you came to visit he would share with you what he had just completed or was getting ready to start. He was so proud of how it came together with the addition of a shops smith which he was looking forward to using creating all new projects. His other talents included working with leather, walking sticks, knife handles or turning spoons. He was vastly knowledgeable in these creative one of a kind works of art. Always tinkering out in his shop he was eager to learn new wood crafts. Whether it was riding his Harley, telling stories or enjoying time in his shop the most precious of all is the memory he leaves imprinted on our hearts forever… Ride on my love….
