Obituary of Harriett "Jean" Anutta

Please share a memory of Harriett to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frederick Arthur Anutta was born April 30, 1940 in Escanaba, Michigan and died on December 3, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. Harriett “Jean” Anutta was born in Dearborn, Michigan on January 19, 1943 and lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on April 6, 2021. They were married September 4th, 1964 in Plymouth, Michigan and remained so for 56 years. Fred and Jean will forever be remembered as loving parents/grandparents, caring teachers, active church and community members. Fred and Jean met at Northern Michigan University in Marquette where he studied Biology and she majored in Elementary Education. They were married their senior year of college and began careers in education after graduation. They moved to Prescott, Arizona in 1979, before they moved to their final destination of Lake Havasu City in 1983 where they resided together for 38 years. They established roots in the community as educators and raised their children. Fred was a guidance counselor and girls tennis coach at Lake Havasu High School. Jean was a teacher at Smoketree Elementary and was dedicated to her ADK sorority. They were both active at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in many different capacities. They retired from teaching in 2002 and focused on traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Unfortunately illness took them too early, but neither Fred nor Jean allowed their ailments to prevent them from spending time with the friends and family they loved. They leave behind Matt, Dina, Sierra, and Noah Anutta; Chris, Sam, Ivan, Allison, and Logan Anutta; Becky, Taylor, Gage, and Hannah Yost (Anutta); and Sarah, Chris, Aiden and Owen Sorsoleil (Anutta). We know they are together again in heaven where Jean is singing in the choir while Fred plays tennis. A Memorial Service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:00 am. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
