Kenneth G. Swint
November 21, 1936 – March 19, 2021
Ken died at the Hospice Polidori House of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Talmadge Arden and Margie Ida Swint. He was born between Sugar Grove and Magazine (near Fort Smith) Logan County, Arkansas. The family moved a lot due to his father’s employment.
Ken was educated at the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, and Oklahoma University. He served in the United States Army from 1959 – 1963 in Malibu, California.
He retired from Hughes Aircraft Co. During his employment with Hughes, he was sent to Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia to work as Facilities Manager; building an aircraft structure. After retiring, he started his own business, Havasu Pool Service. Kenny had not just one job, but a few other occupations in his time. He was a jack of all trades and a master of most.
Ken was ill for some time and spent eight years in Assisted Living. Through it all, he kept his wonderful smile.
He enjoyed flying his Cherokee Archer 180 when he lived in California. He moved to Lake Havasu City in 1993. He was an expert water skier and enjoyed boating and parking his boat in the channel. He was often referred to as the “Mayor of the Point”. His boat, the Silent Storm, was built by a man from Japan. He built four, and took three back to Japan. Ken bought the fourth one. The Silent Storm was sometimes referred to as “The Great White”.
Ken married Dorie Bishop Swint on May 1, 2009. They were together from November of 2000. He was also married two times before.
Ken is Survived by his wife; Dorie Swint, brother-in-law; K. Gould, sister-in-law; Lorelei Phelps, and a long-time great friend, Dory Sarafin.
He is proceeded in death by both parents; Talmage A. and Margie I. Swint and his sister; Peggy Gould.
Kenny will be very, very missed; especially by his wife. He was the Sunshine of her life.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Elks Lodge of Sorrow on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm
