Obituary of Joan Barbara Davies

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joan Barbara Davies passed away on March 18, 2021 after a short fight with lung cancer at the age of 84. Joan was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Charles and Blanche Balletti on September 20, 1936, and grew up in Windsor Locks, CT. She and her husband, Jim were married in 1956. They moved to Norfolk, MA in 1960 where they raised their four children, living in the same home on Village Green for 58 years. In 2018, she moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ to be near her son, Jim and his family. Joan’s talents and interests were gardening, cooking, and home improvement. Her glorious gardens, delicious meals, and lovely home were a testament to her passions! She also loved to read, and was known to read an entire book in one day. Back in the day, Joan and her husband, Jim were both active members of the Lions Club. She and Jim hosted many family, and Lions Club parties and events in their beautiful backyard. Joan was the consummate hostess, and one could always look forward to what new delicious food would be lovingly cooked by her and served at one of her parties. She worked for Parker-Senior Flexonics as their Government Contracts Customer Service Administrator, having worked her way up to the position during her tenure. They also loved to travel to the Caribbean every year with friends and family. Family was everything to Joan, and she spent as much time as she could with them. Joan is survived by her loving son, James (Kelly Davies) of Anaheim Hills, CA, and their two daughters (Joan’s granddaughters), Caitlyn and Brenna Davies; her grandchildren Jacquelyn and Jay Davies, both of MA, Paul Warlop of PA, and her nephew Jerry Balletti of FL. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Blanche and Charles Balletti; her husband, James Davies; her brothers Chuck, Jerry, and Ray Balletti; her daughters Joan Warlop and Joy Dardinksi-Russo; and her son, Jay Davies. Joan was beloved by her family and friends, and will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her family. No memorial services are planned. Memories will be shared amongst her family privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.
