Julia Carole Walker departed family, friends, and loved ones early on March 10, 2021, in Lake Havasu City AZ. She was the eldest of 4 children in Albuquerque NM October 23, 1934, to Joseph Mora and Rufina "Ruth" Valdenegro. She married William C Walker on November 29, 1959, in Las Vegas NV, who passed in 1980. She took several early childhood classes while a preschool teacher. She had 12 years with Clarence "Pete" Peters who passed in 1994. In 1998 Carole met Edd Braun, her longtime friend, companion, and caretaker in Santa Claus IN, with whom she spent the last 23 years, living in Santa Claus, Flagstaff, and Lake Havasu City. and visited at least 35 states, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Carribean Sea, plus took many ocean and river cruises, Amtrak trips, and RV travel. Carole's a three-time survivor of cancer since 1980.
Carole and Bill raised 4 daughters in California--Wendy (Rob Marcus) Walker of City Island NY, Cathy (Mark) Kroeger of Santa Claus IN, Nancy (Mark Molini) Walker of Templeton CA, and Tracy (Eric) Watson of Arroyo Grande CA, who survive. Also surviving coast-to-coast are 7 granddaughters--Jennifer, Heather, Julia, Hayley, Shannon, Shelley, and Casey, 5 great-granddaughters--Mia, Georgia, Vivian, Fiona, and Soairse, 3 great-grandsons--Dominick, Raymond, and Seamus in NY, IN, and CA, and brother Robert Mora of Seattle WA, who remain Edd's adopted family, plus step-children Shari (Troy) Betka of CO and Aaron Braun of TN.
Predeceasing her were sisters Diana in 2001 and Josephine in 2015.
Services and memories were shared with family and friends in Edd and her backyard on March 18. Carole's cremains were later released during a family ceremony from a boatdock on Lake Havasu.
