Betty Paul Hartje, 88, passed away January 23, 2021 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Betty was born January 25, 1932 in Joliette, North Dakota to Francis and Phoebe Paul. Betty married the love of her life, Harris Hartje December 30, 1953 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Together they shared 67 years of marriage and were blessed with two children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Betty retired after 31 years in the banking industry as an Executive VP of personal banking. Harris and Betty have called Lake Havasu City, Arizona home for the last 20 years. Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping and baking. She was a founding member of the Lamb of God Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Phoebe Paul, her daughter Deena Gnatowsky and her siblings, Loretta Gilleshammer, Aldora Cox, Jerry Stackle, Evelyn Larson and Leola Stackle.
Betty is survived by her husband, Harris Hartje of Lake Havasu City, AZ; son, Tracey (June) Hartje of Johnsburg, IL, grandchildren; Lindsey (Brad) Olles of Cary, IL, Tyler (Carolina) Hartje of Livonia, MI, Tiffany (Victor) Rodriguez of Las Vegas, NV, Ashley (Michael) Passero of Menifee, CA, Derek (Emily) Gnatowsky of Oak Park, CA, great-grandchildren; Desiree and Cash Rodriguez of Las Vegas, NV, Charlee and Hazel Passero of Menifee, CA.
