Obituary of Dana Lord

Dana “Skip” Lord passed away on January 12, 2021 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Skip was born in Sweet Valley, PA in 1942. After college, he worked in all areas of heavy construction, building roads, dams and bridge all over the country. His work brought his family to Lake Havasu City in 1979, when he was the project manager building the pumping station for the Central Arizona Project at the south end of Lake Havasu. Skip enjoyed all things outdoors. He loved his rock crawlers, “Mr. Blue”, and explored every inch of desert around Havasu. Summertime you would find him floating in his raft, fishing his favorite rivers in Montana. Skip is preceded in death by his parents, Freas “Buck” and Margaret “Peg” Lord, his second wife and soulmate, Barbara Lord, his final life partner, Delores Selby, and stepdaughter, Vianna Thompson. He is survived by his wife, and mother of his 3 children, Marian Lord, his daughter Wendy (Greg) Befort, Sons, Dana (Christine) Lord, Donald (Lisa) Lord, stepdaughter, Lori Anter, a brother, Al (Genie) Lord and sister, Susan McMahon. Skip was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. As was his wish, there will be no services. A private celebration of life will be held this summer. Arrangements were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory and Memorials may be sent to the funeral home.
