Obituary of Bradley Ray
Please share a memory of Bradley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bradley Ray, known to most as Brad, entered into his eternal home on January 19th, at home, in Lake Havasu City. He was born November 12, 1928 in Jackson, Tennessee. He was the son of Estle Ray, a farmer, and Alma Long Ray, a homemaker. He was the second of seven children. He passed at age 92.
Brad and Toni Ray moved to Lake Havasu City in 1970 from Washington, D.C. metro area. They visited friends while on vacation in this “hot” desert and instantly fell in love with its beauty. They placed a contingency purchase on a Shuffler and Kerly model home on Saratoga Blvd and then returned to D.C. to sell property and leave behind the big city life for this much slower pace. They never regretted the move and Lake Havasu City became their home for 50 years.
Brad was a city bus driver in Washington, D.C., but found his career passion as a new and used car salesman until his retirement in 2007. He managed Del Lago Motors from 1971 to 1982 when he joined with Bradley Ford until his retirement in 2007. He was trusted, honest and greatly loved both personally and professionally by this community and his co-workers.
Brad gave his heart to Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord when he was 20 years old. He served the Lord faithfully. He was an elder, greeter, encourager, and teacher at Lakeview Community Church for 40 years. He recently completed his life’s work on the New Testament Book of Revelation in book form available on Amazon entitled “The Rapture Versus the Second Coming of Jesus”. He never met a stranger. Many lives were blessed by this man who lived to serve his Lord.
He is survived by his son, Dale Ray and his wife, Marianne; By his daughter, Julie Ray Meyer and her husband, Gary; by (4) grandchildren and (10) great-grandchildren; and by three sisters.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Toni Ray, in 2007.
Bradley Ray never built a skyscraper or accumulated great wealth but lived a life that strengthened and blessed multiple lives and truly built a city by a beautiful lake in Arizona.
Bradley Ray’s Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeview Community Church at 1699 Acoma Blvd. W. in Lake Havasu City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30th. The public is welcome.
