Evelyn Weisberg passed away on 11/22/2020 at the age of 99. Her 100th birthday would be Dec. 16th. Let us celebrate her life with a toast to Evelyn!
Born and growing up in Chicago, Ill, Evelyn met her husband Sam. Soon, a family blossomed and they were California bound.
Evelyn had many exciting adventures including starting a Head Start Program in San Jose, CA where a sliding scale was provided for low income families and she then proceeded to open her own school, "Miss Evelyn's Nursery School." Everyone was welcome and she made sure no one was left out on having excellant childcare. It was Magical! Evelyn continued on and earned a Masters Degree and PhD.
Moving from San Jose to Santa Cruz was so exciting where she, Sam and her family were living their dream of living on the beach in the home Sam built her. Warmer weather was in the future. Then another chapter had begun.
Evelyn came to Lake Havasu City in 1990 with her late husband Sam and immediately went to work at Mohave Community College as an instructor in the Early Childhood Education Program. Teaching was her passion!
She loved her family: Late husband Sam, late son Louis, daughters Ilene and Diane, grandchildren Shane, Troy, Tara, Emily, Julie, Austin, Dillon and great-grandchildren Penny, Liam, Logan, Odin, Anna and Hanna.
