Obituary of Robert Hill
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed from this life on November 5, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, AZ with his family surrounding him. He was 84 years old.
Robert worked in the grocery industry for most of his life. At the age of 14 he began working as a box boy Sages Market, eventually driving a produce truck and working wherever the store manager needed him.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950 and honorably discharged after serving in Germany during the Korean War. Upon his return from the military, Robert was hired again by Sage Market and worked his way up to grocery manager, working in San Bernardino, Del Rosa and Rialto, California stores. After retiring from the grocery business, he became a licensed real estate agent enjoying the business for 15 years. In 2009, Robert moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona to be closer to his family.
Reading good books was his passion. He could tell stories and reminisce so well that we felt like we had participated in them. He was charming, engaging and loved spending time with his family, especially enjoying his great grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his four children; Kari(Chet) Faulkner of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Kathi (Tom) Strout of Tracy, Calif., Kristi Rayevich of Kingman, AZ, and Robert D. Hill of Los Angeles, CA. 9 grandchildren, 6 (almost 7) great grandchildren, his sister, Mary Stone of Yucaipa, Calif., and cousins nieces and nephews throughout the states. Robert was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Linda Hill. He will be missed by his family and friends, alike.
The Veteran's national Cemetery in Prescott, AZ will be Robert's final resting place with Heaven his eternal home.
Thank you to the amazing caregiver at Lake Hills Inn and the doctors and nurses at Havasu regional medical center. You each made dad better able to triumph over his difficult circumstances.
