RAYMOND RICHARD MCALLISTER
11/17/1945 – 10/18/2020
Raymond Richard McAllister, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully with family by his side in Arizona on October 18th, 2020.
Raymond, also known as “Ray Mac”, was born to Addie (Canney) Martin and Roger J McAllister Sr. November 17th, 1945. Ray was predeceased by his parents as well as his brothers Ronald, Roger(Sonny), Bob, Tommy and sister Carol.
Ray grew up in Milford, New Hampshire and spent much of his life in Nashua, New Hampshire where he raised his daughters. Ray was active duty in the Army for a few years. Ray then worked at Anheuser Busch brewery in Merrimack, New Hampshire until 1987 when he was transferred to the Anheuser Busch brewery in Fort Collins Colorado. He then retired to Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Ray was a passionate softball player and coordinated the softball league for Anheuser Busch in Merrimack. He was a proud Teamster. He loved candlepin bowling and loved to golf with his daughter Kris and his good friend Chris. Ray had numerous friends at his home at Park West in Jacksonville and loved all his friends at “The Kettle”.
Ray is survived by his sister Joan McAllister-Yarger, and his 5 daughters; Johnna Herrick-Phelps of New Hampshire, Kris McAllister of New Hampshire, Kathy McAllister of Arkansas, Kelly Oko (McAllister) of Arizona, and Randi McAllister of New Hampshire. Ray also knew a young man that he considered a son; Michael Tierney of New Hampshire.
Ray also leaves behind 8 grand-children; Ashley McAllister, Emylee Oko, Ryan Oko, Kyle Gauthier, Kristofer Gauthier, Kaylee Burleson, Kameron Burleson, Grace Phelps. 3 Great Grandbabies; James, Alix and Elena and numerous family members and friends.
In his last days, Ray talked about wanting to “go out with a smile” and made it clear he wants no one to be sad but to remember the good times that make you smile. We also noticed Dad left at 2:45 am , which had been his coffee time every morning for the past two weeks, so we are certain he went to have coffee with God! Rest Easy Dad.
