Susan Lynette Sutphen (Combs) Born On March 28th, 1952 in Wabash, Indiana, passed on September 08th, 2020 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona of Cardiac Arrest. Sue went by many nicknames, Grandma Sue, Headquarters and Blondie just to name a few. Sue grew up in Indiana and Illinois until moving with her family to California at the age of 9. They moved to Azusa when she was 12 years old, and it is there where she lived for the next 52 years before retiring to Lake Havasu City, Arizona with G.A.. It was at the young age of 12 that Sue met the love of her life G.A. on Laxford Road in Azusa. They lived across the street from one another, attending Center Junior High School together, but then attended different High Schools. She attended Azusa High School where she graduated in 1971. Sue and G.A. were married on June 14th, 1968 in West Covina, CA. They just recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary, enjoying the beautiful water of Lake Havasu. During her early years of employment, she worked at K-Mart and Pharmaseal Laboratories. In 1973 she joined G.A. at Covina Screen & Patio in Covina, where together they carried on the tradition of running the Sutphen family business. They continued to expand the business to provide for their family. She became a staple to the business and retired after 47 years. Sue loved to read, have morning coffee with her sister Karen, craft, draw, collect rocks, boat, off road, play cards, shop, play penny slots, gossip with the Covina coffee club, talk about her family, especially her Grand and Great-Grandchildren and entertain friends. Sue enjoyed traveling. Her favorite place to travel was Jamaica. She and G.A. were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in Jamaica in 2018, with their two daughters and their husbands, Jeani & Victor and Sheri & Brian. They shared great laughs and created many memories. Sue is preceded in death by her parents Donald Lee Combs April 27th, 2002 and Mabel Irene Combs October 25th, 2018.
