Obituary of Kelly James Hulse
Please share a memory of Kelly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Thursday July 23, 2020 at 10:10 am my beloved Captain Kelly James Hulse made
his final voyage to his eternal rest at the age of 53.
Kelly was born on April 19, 1967 in Bethel, New York to Charles and Phyllis Hulse and
would be their only child. His parents were both in the medical field and with the love
and support of grandma Brown and Aunt Knapp they drove Kelly to have an amazing
thirst for knowledge.
Kelly attended Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School where he attended till he
graduated while completing his college at the same time. Kelly scored exceptionally
high on his IQ test and was asked to be a part of Mensa of which he declined.
At the age of 18 Kelly was pulled to the Florida Sea where he attended school to
become a ships captain. He excelled and became a professor for the school enjoying
the technical and navigation aspects. He quickly developed products to aid in
navigation which directed him into opening Valhalla Enterprises Inc. In 1989 Kelly
became a legend in his own right developing navigation technology that would aid our
military, and drive the industry.
Kelly’s passion for technology never faded which brought him to continue his search for
producing the next big thing in an extensive and diverse array of fields. His passion for
the industry continued after selling VEI, and he continued to thrive in navigation.
Kelly had the unique talent of being able to carry a conversion on any topic and was the
master of studying. Kelly meant the world to his friends and family who will greatly miss
his generosity, humor and kindness. Kelly was one in a Billion!
Kelly met his soulmate Jennifer and in a very short time they were married on Aug.
24,2014. Our marriage was an Epic Love Story that is full of Laughter, Joy and Great
Adventures. Our love inspired those around us and drove us into each other's warm
embrace every night.
Kelly was preceded in death by his Father Charles and Mother Phyllis. He is survived
by his beloved wife Jennifer, puppy Penny and Tiki kitty and Thor. Kelly has an Uncle
Steve, Aunt Cynthia, Aunt Joe, Uncle Richard and several Cousins and Great Friends
that will treasure every memory.
We will greatly miss his creative sense of humor, his drive to be an accomplished
engineer, brilliant entrepreneur, fantastic storyteller, and an attentive ear that made him
an exceptional mentor to so many.
Kelly’s Celebration of Life will be held on Zoom hosted by his wife Jennifer and
treasured friend Jason on Aug.7th at 5:30 pm. Great friend Bill and Class of 1985 JYCS
set up a donation in Kelly’s honor with the SPCA in Rock Hill, Sullivan County, New
York.
Till we meet again My Love.
