Name: Donald William Finnigsmier Jr. Nickname Fingers History: Donald Finnigsmier Jr was born on March 9, 1965 in Hastings Nebraska and was the youngest of 4 children. He was 17 when he joined the United States Navy on December 23, 1982. He was awarded multiple accommodations for service and excellence throughout his 20 year Naval career. He was a veteran of Desert Storm, where he was given the nickname “Fingers”. After his retirement from the Navy, he made his home in Lake Havasu City Az, where he worked as a motorcycle mechanic before becoming a long haul truck driver with his co-pilot Beaux, until he was called home. On September 24, 2006, in Lake Havasu City Arizona, he married the only love of his life, Diane Armstrong. They have 4 dogs and 4 cats that are their fur babies. His hobbies included “Wind Therapy” on his HD, family time, spending time with his “Brothers”, studying the bible, reading, and watching a little tv every now and again. His veteran brothers were a major influence in his life; whether it be at the Legion drinking coffee, on a poker run or a weekend getaway. These were times he cherished. Fingers had a passion for food, particularly his sister in law Frenchy’s Louisiana home cooking. He was also an advocate for animals and children. Other than growing up in small town Nebraska and traveling the world with the Navy, Lake Havasu City was his home. Donald was preceded in death by his Father Donald Finnigsmier Sr., Mother Lois Finnigsmier, Grandparents Oscar and Lena Karabel and his best friend and pet: Chopper. Fingers was a Life Member of the VNVLV MC (20 years), a member of the Lake Havasu City American Legion Post 81 and the NRA. He was also a member of Calvary Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Diane Finnigsmier of Lake Havasu City Arizona and their fur babies, Beaux, Tete Fife’, Tuffy, Gizmo, Gooney, Roni, Prissy and Lucy. His niece and nephew fur babies, Angel and Titus.
