Bob was a friend of mine growing up in Wray, Colorado. There were quite a few friends that played together and went to school together. This is sad to hear of this. He was a good friend.

I know Bob Klein as coach Klein. He Coached some pretty good teams at La Veta High School I was on a few of those teams he had me wrestle at 167 and I only weighed 137 but he would have me drink a gallon of water I put quarters in my mouth before we went in so I can make weight at 145 is quite funny now but it was really hard back then but I wouldn’t change anything for the world I ended up being a district champion as a freshman thanks to Coach Klein.

I want to express my sympathy to you and your family. I was a school friend and class mate of Bob’s in Wray. He was such a nice guy always had a smile and was easy going. All of us growing up in Wray were lucky to have each other. I will pray that you find peace in your memories. Blessing to you all. Linda Warner Frank

I had Mr. Klein as a history/social studies teacher and a Driver's Ed teacher in 1994-95 @ Ellicott High School. I often think of him when I see a Nissan Z driving around. He loved that car back in the 90s! Every time I have to parallel park, I think of when he had me practice parallel parking between 2 Police cars while they were standing outside taking a break. He thought it was so fun and I was absolutely terrified! Thankfully I passed! Whenever I drive on a freeway off-ramp, I remember how I scared him enough by driving too fast into a turn that he used the instructor brake to keep us from crashing. It was never fun being chewed out by him, but man when you made him proud...you could his whole face would light up! It sounds so cliche when I hear people talk about a teacher that made a difference in someone's life, but Mr. Klein definitely did that for me! School was the only place where I felt safe and where I could be the true me, and I attribute all that to teachers like Mr. Klein. He definitely left his mark on so many of us. I pray that his family finds peace during this somber time. Thank you for sharing him with us. He will be missed.

He was one of 2 teachers that always believed in me even when others wanted me expelled. He saw something in me that no else did. He was one of 2 teachers at my wedding. I know I made him proud and I proved him right there was something in me that he was able to see. I am still married 27yrs later to my perfect Dr. wife and I became a mechanical engineer. Thank you Bob for always believing me when no one else did. You help make me the man I am today!! You will never know what it meant to me knowing you always had my 6. Ever teacher should aspire to rise to your level. To this day people ask me how in the world did you where that was when playing games. My response I had the best geography teach known! Rest In Peace sir and thank you again.
