September 19, 1934 - November 18, 2012 Raymond John Canonico, age 78, passed away peacefully and with his family by his side Nov. 18 at Hospice of Havasu's Polidori House. Ray was born in Alliance, Ohio in 1934. In 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Lou Shank, and that same year moved to Southern California to start their wonderful life together. He leaves behind Linda Canonico, his wife of 54 years, daughters: Michelle McCulloch (Fred) and Jennifer Canonico Todd (D.J.), sons: Raymond Patrick Canonico (Cindi) and Ernie Canonico, granddaughters: Linda Greene (Tyler and Michelle's daughter), Allyson and Haylee Canonico (Raymond Patrick's daughters), brother Henry Canonico (Kathy and family), sister Patricia Baier (Larry) and sister-in-law Lora Shank Dellinges (Bill). Ray was preceeded in death by his parents Ernest A. and Beatrice, his daughter Lynn Anne, his nephew Gary Baier and brother-in-law Gil Shank. Ray's priorities always were focused on his family and his friends. He constantly was relied upon for his generous heart, his very capable mind and hands and his tremendous problem-solving abilities. Working for many years at North American Rockwell in California, Ray secured the parts that supported the Apollo 11 Spacecraft Program, which landed the first humans on the Moon. In addition, at Metrovonics, he installed first-generation video surveillance systems in both public- and private-sector businesses. In 1980, Ray and his family moved to Lake Havasu. He bought a golf course lot and built a custom home for his family on it. After designing and building his own home from the ground up, he began building homes for investors in the community. Ray had a life-long passion for the game of golf and more importantly, playing it with friends and family. He was a member of the London Bridge Men's Golf Club for 25 years and a skilled golfer who routinely shot in the 70s.
