Patricia Ann Vernon passed away on February 1, 2020 at the age of 88. Our beloved Mother, Aunt, Sister, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Pat was born on November 22nd, 1932 in Midvale, Utah, to her parents, Harold T. Hewlett and Thelma Kemp Hewlett. She was the eldest of 4 children, including her Sister Barbara Meyers, who preceded her in death, Her Brother Harold Hewlett, lives currently in Texas, and her younger Sister Mary Galloway, lives currently in California.
Together they had 2 children. Glory Ann Vernon (Jim Allender), who preceded her in death, and Jacklyn Ballard (Randy). They Have 3 Grandchildren, Steven Broadbent, Jennifer Wilson and Jackson Allender, as well as a chosen granddaughter, Tamara Broadbent, the best caregiver our family could ask for. 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler Broadbent (Jordan), Ciara Broadbent, Stephanie Broadbent, Madison Kean~wilson, Samantha Wilson, Betsy Jo Erb, and Ezra Horn (Tamara's Son). She also has several Nieces and nephews, who loved to spend time with her, Kim, (Toby) Beckie (Bob), Denni (Zach).
Gigi, as she's affectionately known here in Lake Havasu City, Moved with her Parents in 1947, to California. She married the love of her life, Jack Vernon, in 1950. She Owned a Salon, Pats Hair Fashions, Then in 1969, moved to the Colorado River, where they owned and operated The Rite Spot, A store and gas station, Auto repair. They retired to Lake Havasu City, in the early 80s. She was Married to Jack for 54 years before his passing in 2004. A Hairdresser for several years, She was A strong, Witty, Sarcastic, Fun-loving and free spirited person, who was very loyal to her, Family and close friends, if they needed her. (her niece once recalled how, when visiting a friends establishment, another friend was verbally attacked by a drunk and foul mouthed patron. Her daughter walked out to back up her friend, Pat turned to her Niece and Nephew and stated. "Im gunna need you to hold my cane if this goes farther also might need bail money". They Laughed, Pat didn't. Fortunately, things calmed down, and neither cane holding, nor bail money was needed.
She loved spending time with her family, riding horses And Harley's, and playing bingo. Cruising the high seas with her friend Marilyn after she was widowed. Driving her PT Cruiser, (with her top down). Never without a witty comeback, she had sayings that would make the saddest person erupt in a full belly laugh. We are all incredibly saddened to have lost such a bright light in our lives.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to go toward a memorial plaque in Patricia's honor.
