Mary Ann Sabo, 82, was called to Heaven on January 2, 2020, where she was reunited with the love of her life, Lawrence. Mary Ann loved life and fought both COPD and RA for many years right up to the end with both strength and courage. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mary Ann and Larry moved to Lake Havasu City over 30 years ago when they purchased London Bridge Ice Cream, which they ran together. Prior to that, she worked with Bank of America for many years in California. Mary Ann was born and raised in Michigan. She graduated from St. Matthews High School in Flint, Michigan and was the valedictorian of her class. Mary Ann and Lawrence were high school sweethearts. They married right out of high school and soon after started their family.
Mary Ann is survived by her 5 children; Cathy Sepulveda, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Debbie (Carlos) Gallegos, Goodyear, Arizona, Vickie (John) Dighera, Fullerton, California, Nancy Sabo, Chino Hills, California, and Mike (Ellen) Sabo, Lake Havasu City, Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many family members who all loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and George Hughes; husband, Lawrence; her stepmother, Verna Hughes and her brother, Richard Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either Helpfightra.org or the COPD foundation, would be appreciated.
