Ronald Paul Funk was born September 25, 1938 to Paul and Bernice Funk in Northville, Michigan. Ron went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 21, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Ron grew up in Livonia, Michigan. He graduated from Bentley High School in 1956. He attended Clearly College for four years, where he met is beloved wife, Suzanne (Gauss) Funk. They were married on January 6, 1962 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ron and Sue were married for just over 50 years. They lived their entire life together in Michigan and had a winter home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona for 10 years. They raised their four children in Pinckney, Michigan. He leaves behind his loving wife Sue; his brother, Roger Funk (Kris); three sons, Eric Funk, Michael Funk (Kimberly), David Funk (Amy); daughter, Michelle Crossley (Anthony); six grandchildren whom he was known to as Papa.
Ron owned his own business, Land-O-Lakes Sports Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He sold this business in 1973 and became a manufacturer's representative for several companies in the marine industry throughout his sales career. He was a member and President of the Dexter Jaycees. He was a coach for little league baseball for many years for his son's teams. He was a founding member of Tau Kappa Delta fraternity at Clearly College. He is a member of both Catholic Churches that he attended in Michigan and Arizona. In his free time he loved to do finish carpentry, playing card games, and spending time with family and friends. He was a real people person.
He is preceded in death by one infant daughter, Deborah Funk; his parents, Paul and Bernice Funk.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, and friends.
