Mary Ann Florence Schomisch
October 11, 1925 – October 26, 2019
Mary Ann Florence Schomisch, 94, passed away October 26, 2019, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
As a homemaker, Mary Ann was devoted to her husband of 49 years and her four children. She also invested in her community through acts of service and leadership roles in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Blythe Historical Museum.
Mary Ann put her hand to many crafts over the years, including embroidery and candle making.
Visiting family could often find her reading a book or shuffling cards at the dining room table, a glint in her eye challenging anyone passing by to a game.
A jigsaw puzzle was often in progress as a gathering place to share thoughts and memories.
Moving to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 2011 to live with her eldest daughter and son-in-law was a big adjustment. She fell in love with the Book Exchange and the teppan table at Shogun.
Mary Ann had many heartaches and challenges in life, which she overcame with strength and humor.
For the past two years, she was lovingly cared for the staff at GEMS Assisted Living.
Mary Ann is now at rest with her Savior, husband and son.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Auxiliary Post 9401, Lake Havasu City, Arizona or Dreams Come True, Jacksonville, Florida.
Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to the family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com. To send a free card go to www.sendoutcards.com/lietzfraze.
