So sorry to hear of Mr. Newcombs passing. I have been waiting on him at Safeway for years and he is one of my favorite customers. He was always so kind to us and in a jolly mood. I will miss our Sunday morning quick chats as you could always count on seeing him getting his newspaper and coffee. Mr. Newcomb, you will be missed ♡♡♡

The memories always flood when a cohort dies. Grandma Wheeler rarely left her farm. The world came to her. When the Newcomb family came east to visit it was a holiday. More exciting than a birthday visits were always a wonderful time.

My heart goes out to Evelyn, Dale, Gregg, and Carolyn. We all loved Richard very, very much.
Dick was the best older brother a baby sister could have! Twelve years older than I, he drew babysitting duty a lot, never acting like it was a burden. He read his textbooks to me, answering all questions a toddler would have. He taught me how to swim, fish, shoot, and to respect, not fear, reptiles, insects, or any animal. He was an excellent family man, good to our parents, close to our oldest brother, and was well loved by our entire family, and friends. There was a lot if laughter in our home as we grew up, a tradition he was instrumental in continuing. There was no yelling, yet we were all encouraged to stand up for ourselves. He was a positive influence on the family and everyone he met.
Those who knew Dick were blessed. I was doubly blessed to be his sister. You will be missed, Big Brother! I will love you always!

Rest with the angels Uncle Dick. I will always treasure the ink drawings you sent me as a child. The beauty you saw in nature comes through. Your brilliance and creative thinking put me in awe. I will miss my "birthday buddy", as grandma used to call us.
My deepest sympathies Dale & Greg for the loss of your father.
Love,
Your Cousin Becky
