Obituary of Michael Philip Keele
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Philip Keele, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend on February 16, 2019 at the age of 68.
Michael was born October 6th, 1950 in Loma Linda, California. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Keele, and mother, Doris Green. Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Teresa Keele, Son Matthew Keele (Jennifer Keele), Daughters, Nicole Muzrall (Jimmy Muzrall), Regina Hults (Dustin Hults), and Alyssa Brown (Curtis Jackson). He also leaves behind sisters Debbie Cravens (Dan Cravens) and Linda Fries (Leonard Fries) nephews and godson Jonathan.
He was also extremely proud of and thoroughly enjoyed his grandbrats, Matilyn Jade Keele, Sara Estelle Chevalier, Jessie Rae Chevalier, and Harlie Rayann Keele.
Michael served in the Navy Seabees during the Vietnam war, where he received his distinguish service accolades. Michael moved from California to Show Low in 1989 and established himself in the community by becoming a member of the Show Low Elks Lodge, Show Low Main Street, Chamber of Commerce and White Mountain Horseman Association. Michael along with his wife Teresa Keele, owned and operated longtime local businesses; Flowers by Dorothy and Roto-Rooter.
Mike had recently retired to Lake Havasu City in 2018, where he could enjoy his passion for boating, off-roading, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will be remembered for his big, soft heart, instantaneous laughter, big bear hugs, joy of living in the moment, generous nature, cooking mastery, (of both grill and stove), telling stories, (no matter how many times he had already told them), his humor (even if often inappropriate) and a deep love for his family and friends. He was also known as a rodeo queen dad extraordinaire; where he would drive endless miles, unload, groom, saddle horses, walking several parade routes, all the while breathing in huge amounts of hairspray; anything for his girls.
One of his greatest joys was traveling with his wife whenever and wherever he could. From snorkeling and volcano helicopter rides in Hawaii, to driving throughout Alaska, numerous motorcycle trips throughout the southwest, to just Sunday drives in the forest, he lived life to the fullest, wherever, whenever he could.
Michael leaves a huge hole that will never be filled, and he will be deeply missed. His celebration of life will be held March 1st, 2019 at eleven o’clock in the morning at the Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Rivera Blvd., Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86403. Intermit to follow at the Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, 1698 Deer Run Dr., Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86404.
