Edmund (Bug) Arthur Williams, 94, passed away January 21, 2019 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Bug was born on March 29, 1924 to Warren and Rose Williams, and grew up in Newcomb and Moriah, New York. He attended Moriah High School. Two and one-half months before graduation, Bug quit high school to go work in the iron ore mines in Mineville, New York.
At the age of 18, Bug enlisted in the Army. He was part of the 670th AA MG Battery, stationed in Nagoya, Japan and New Guinea. During his tenure in the Army, he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Service medal, the Good Conduct medal, the World War II Victory medal and the Philippines Liberation ribbon. After his discharge in January 1946, he returned home to Moriah and to his job in the mines.
In 1972, Bug married Yvonne Poolet of Witherbee, NY and the pair moved west, first to Las Vegas, Nevada, then to Phoenix, Arizona and finally to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where they lived for 32 years.
Bug is preceded in death by his loving wife, Yvonne, parents, Warren and Rose Williams and sister, Shirley Cornwell.
Bug is survived by his daughter, Michelle Poolet, and niece, Dawn Belden.
