Obituary of Jerome Ashburn
Jerome “Bud” Ashburn, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Sacred Heart, Minnesota passed away on January 25, 2019. Bud was born in Clara City, Minnesota to his parents, Roy and Edith Ashburn on May 7, 1937. He was 81 years of age.
Bud grew up in Sacred Heart, Minnesota and attended Sacred Heart Public School. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Marlys “Molly” Jean Sagness on December 8, 1956 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. They were blessed with sixty two wonderful years together.
During their marriage, Bud and Molly were fortunate enough to give birth to three boys, who grew up to be amazing men.
Bud and Molly loved to spend their winters in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, watching and going to sporting events, but most of all, spending time with their family, friends, and watching/playing with their grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Roy and Edith Ashburn.
Bud is survived by his lovely wife of 62 years; Molly Ashburn, of Sacred Heart, Minnesota; sons, Randall (Kristen Smit) Ashburn, of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, Michael (Vicky) Ashburn, of Sacred Heart, Minnesota, and Richard (Carrie) Ashburn, of Sacred Heart, Minnesota; brother. Jerry (Pat) Ashburn, or Sacred Heart, Minnesota; sisters, Judy (Belwin) Rode, of Benson, Minnesota and Joy (Dean) Halvorson, of Granite Falls, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation at 4:00pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
