Elayne Mary Ferebee of Lake Havasu City passed on to join family members on January 18, 2019. She was born on September 24, 1922 to Raymond and Mary Hawkins in Hudson, Wisconsin, where she lived for many years. In 1947, she and her sister, Carmelita, traveled by train to California.
In 1948 she married Basil Ferebee in Kingman, Arizona. They lived in Mammoth Lakes, California where they opened and ran numerous businesses and their daughter, Joyce, was born. They eventually spent more time in Bishop where Elayne opened The Lady Bug yarn shop.
In 1982, they moved to Lake Havasu, built a home and became very active in fishing and Elayne played golf with The Niners. They loved RVing and belonged to a very active group.
Elayne was preceeded in death by Basil, and her sisters, Carmelita and Demerize. She is survived by daughter, Joyce, and family members Audrey (Ben) Brooks, Nancy Somers, Trudy (Gary) Harter, Chuck (Nancy) Frautchi, Dennis (Dottie) Hartman.
There is no service planned. The family wants to especially thank Hospice of Havasu and the amazing staff at Gems 1.
