Obituary of Joseph Edward Grosser
Joseph E Grosser, 72, passed away on December 11, 2018. Joe was born to Henry and Mary Irene Grosser (Wentzel) on October 31st 1946 in Detroit Michigan.
Joe married Christine Coffman 1970-1983. They had two sons Eric and Kevin.
Joe married Deborah Dreher 1984-2003.
Joe remained single the remainder of his life. He retired from (DNA) Detroit Newspaper Agency in Michigan.
Joe was an Advanced Ham Radio operator. His first Novice Call sign was KA8AFO issued to him June 1978 at the age of 31.He later upgraded to General and finally to an Advanced Call sign of N8BBI around the mid-1980s. Joe was an Advanced Ham Radio Operator at the time of his death. Joe’s favorite things was mirrors and the color blue, he loved dogs and children and was a long time Elvis Presley fan.
Joe lived in Michigan until September 2016 when his brother Dennis moved him and their sister Marie to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He enjoyed attending the Church of Christ on Palo Verde North with friends and family. He was known as “the candy man” to the children who loved running up to him for candy and his smile.
After moving to Lake Havasu, Joe was able to do a little traveling. Joe reunited with his sons when he went to Phoenix in 2016.This was one of the joys and highlight of his life. He also loved hearing from his sons when they called him on his birthday.
He went to Las Vegas and watched Elvis imitators perform on stage. He took a trip to Memphis Tennessee. There he enjoyed touring Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion. He went to Branson Missouri and enjoyed meeting Elvis’s 3rd cousin Jerry Presley and seeing him perform on stage multiple times. Joe’s family can still hear Joe saying his favorite Elvis’s phrase “Thank you, Thank you very much”
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Mary Irene (Wentzel) Grosser, ex-wife Deborah Ann (Dreher) Grosser
He is survived by his brothers: Dennis (wife Donna), Henry (wife Mary) and Richard (wife Dannette) Grosser: His sister: Marie Grosser: His sons; Eric Joseph Grosser and Kevin Michael Grosser, ex-wife Christine Germaine Coffman, His cousin: Anthony (wife Donna) Schafran and many nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 23, at the Church of Christ 2001 Palo Verde N, Lake Havasu City, AZ. There will be a worship service at 10:30 am, then the memorial service at 12:30 pm.
