I am so sorry for you loss. I worked with Opie at the District Attorney's office. I will always remember how he helped me in my very first "big" case. He guided this, relatively new, assistant district attorney. The guilty verdicts were as much his as mine. He was one of the great inspectors that I was very fortunate to work with while he was here.

Dear Carol and Opie's sons and family. It was with shock and sadness that I read of Opie's passing. We worked together in the DA's office for many years. While there was always a lot of work there was a lot of time for laughter. Carol I had hoped that I would see you two sometime when you came back to Santa Cruz. Reach out if you do come back here, I have been a widow for about 4 years. Again my deepest sympathy to you and all the family, you lost a great guy. Love, Nancy
