Obituary of Kenneth Charles Hogan
Kenneth C. Hogan, age 99, Lake Havasu City, Arizona passed away, November 4, 2018 surrounded by family.
Mr. Hogan was born in Kansas City, Kansas and grew up in Marked Tree near Jonesboro, Arkansas and the Kansas City area. As a teen he enjoyed track in high school. Also he called himself a "HoBo" jumping trains from Kansas City to Jonesboro and back. He was a proud World War II Army Veteran and served in Europe.
Mr. Hogan was active in his church. He sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and later was a Lay Minister for the United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports person managing little leagues, church and railroad teams. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing. He enjoyed a number of crafts, puzzles and was a talented painter.
Mr. Hogan retired from the Frisco & Burlington Northern Railroad after 41 years. He later moved to California to be with family and then to Arizona with his son.
Mr. Hogan was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Arleyne Hogan and a daughter, Sharon Nowak, and granddaughter, Brenda Cardenas.
Mr. Hogan is survived by his two sons, Darrell Hogan, Eudora, Kansas; Rod and wife Deb Hogan; of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; a daughter, Kendra Jennings, Kansas City, Kansas and sister, Nina Reed, Lawrence, Kansas; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles club on Sunday December 2 at 1:00PM. The burial of ashes will be at Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas where a private graveside service will be held. The family requests donations be made to cancer society.
